Returning to the Drawing Board
One objective of beginning a blog was to work on more creative thoughts for my web and private art projects. It is true that I used to run free illustration blogs, but nowadays I have not done so for quite some time. It is also a fact that I have a blank drawing set that has not been touched for a while, so that was the sign I was waiting for to begin. A while ago I had written a blog about the simplest things that we love for breakfast. Below are some points that I considered through the whole process.
One thing that I found it being interesting is that when it came to getting inspired, it was never a hard thing on my part. When talking about breakfast I had to ensure I spiced things up to make it appealing to anyone who was reading the post. I needed paper cups and box of raisins and took the photo. I had to ensure that the post had a lot of colorful and different colors and I also used a couple of different drawing techniques. Anyone who knows me can attest to the fact that I have always loved interior design blogs since I was a child.
I really enjoyed my time when I decided to sketch the coffee cup. I wanted to be creative, so I did not draw just a cup but decided to go with a floating cup. I later on decided to add moons and stars so that it can look more of a celestial theme. When I was done with the sketch I defined it with a black pen. Using this technique helped me to overlap and commit as many mistakes as I could. I did not go to a formal school which could help me in my drawing. Whats interesting is that I choose to play video games and watch cartoon instead. If you think that I can draw a picture of you, let me disappoint you because I definitely cannot. After I finished tracing over the pencil, I left the drawing to dry. During this time of waiting I began my next illustration.
The next thing that I did was draw a box of cereal sitting on a tree stump. I got inspired by a blog that I viewed about wooden furniture. I had already drawn the moon and the stars which later on inspired me to draw a beautiful garden. I love to color, and I enjoyed coloring the drawing. For the cup I used a box of crayons and colored pencils. I had a clear vision and I tried to bring it to the drawing.
